FAQs for Groups
Reserving Spaces
All members of your group must sign up for the project in order to save their spots. Volunteer spots at our free community projects are in high demand, and it is just not fair to others who are ready to register and know they can commit to attending. If you are holding a special event and want to reserve spots for potential attendees, consider our customized project services available for a fee. See Customized Group Projects below.
Large groups
The project size listed on our website is determined by the work that is needed by our agency partner. Extra people won't have work to do, and that’s a recipe for a bad experience. Consider creating a custom project or signing up for one of our special events. See Customized Group Projects below.
Customized Group Projects
HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA) is funded by donors, and we work hard to use these funds to serve the most pressing needs of our community in the most efficient and responsible way possible. If you are interested in working with us to create a custom project to fit the special needs and interests of your group, we ask that you pay a fee. The fee will cover the cost of staff time going towards helping you plan your event, and any proceeds will go to support HOBA’s work in the community. Daytime Volunteering
Unfortunately, our community projects are only on nights and weekends. Consider creating a custom project for a fee. See Customized Group Projects above.
