The CEO Speaker Series advances the dialogue among the Bay Area corporate leadership around corporate-civic engagement. By facilitating a dialogue among the corporate leadership in the Bay Area, HOBA supports companies as they initiate, encourage, manage, and assess their civic engagement.
This event will be different because:
This will not be the usual "talking heads" of a large panel; |
It will be far more interactive (you will have opportunities to network with each other before and after the discussion with the CEOs, and you will have an opportunity to interact in the discussion with the CEOs); |
Space will be limited to approximately 100 corporate executives from the Bay Area to be more interactive; |
There will be ample time for Q & A; |
The discussion will be about HOW change happened in their companies and communities - they will not preach to the choir about why it should be done; |
Each quarterly event in the Series will have 2 CEOs/Presidents from different industries talking less about why their companies and employees are involved in their communities, but more about what they do and how they do it. As a result, the conversations will focus less on simply seeking to inspire the attendees and more on supporting them with the processes employed to create change in their companies, employees and communities.
For example, the two panelists may discuss how they secured release time for their employees and the case they made to make that happen, how they tracked turnover rates of employees who are engaged in their communities compared to those who are not, how they explained to their shareholders (if they are public company) and to their board that they were maintaining or increasing their corporate citizenship efforts even during tough times, how they engage their employees in giving programs and volunteer programs, how they engage in cause-related marketing, etc.
If your CEO is interested in speaking, or if your company is interested in sponsoring or hosting the series, feel free to email Oscar Fabián Reyes at oscar@hob.org.
