Special Events
Hands On Bay Area plans service, social and fundraising events throughout the year.
Featured Events:
Be The Change Day 2008 (formerly Hands On Bay Area Day) - On September 13, 2008 volunteers will step forward to take part in many exciting project sites across the Bay Area. Volunteers will renovate public schools, revitalize our local parks, and lend a hand to the many low-income and homeless families that are part of our community.
CEO Speaker Series - The CEO Speaker Series will advance a dialogue among the Bay Area corporate leadership around corporate-civic engagement. By facilitating a dialogue among the corporate leadership in the Bay Area, HOBA supports companies as they initiate, encourage, manage, and assess their civic engagement.
César Chávez Day of Service and Learning - Every March, in conjunction with California’s designated César Chávez Day of Service and Learning, HOBA celebrates his life and values through innovative, fun, and rewarding community service-learning projects.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service - This day is a way to transform MLK Jr.’s life and teachings into community service that helps solve social problems. These service projects may meet a tangible need, such as fixing up a school or senior center, or it may meet a need of the spirit, such as building a sense of community or mutual responsibility.
Hands On Bay Area's Half-Marathon Team - Team Hands on Bay Area is a unique half marathon endurance training and fundraising program that benefits HOBA's community volunteer efforts!
