Family Volunteering

Bringing your children to volunteer with you can be an exciting family activity and a great way to broaden their perceptions of the community. In our online project database and newsletter, projects that allow family volunteering are advertised as Good for Families.

Please Note:

All projects have a specified minimum age. All volunteers must meet the minimum age requirement for each project.

To effectively support the experience of all volunteers at the project, we require one adult volunteer to be present for every four children under the age of 16.

Projects occasionally fill up months ahead of time so make sure you view all of our family friendly projects and sign up while there is still space available.

Get Started Here:

1
Parents must become a member of HandsOn Bay Area by participating in the
Online Orientation. Click here to get started.

2
Sign up the adults in your family for a Good for Families project. Click here for
current Good for Families projects.

3
Save spaces for your children by emailing goodforfamilies@hoba.org or by
contacting the designated project leader via email. If your child wants to bring a friend, please be sure to save the additional space in the project and have the friend bring a minor waiver form signed by a parent or guardian. Click here for the minor waiver form.
