These awards are open to everyone registered with HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA). |
You will not be eligible to receive the grant more than once every calendar year. |
Only project hours from official HOBA Events will count toward the total. (ie. While we encourage all forms of volunteerism, if you participate in outside projects you can not submit those hours for the Impact Grant). |
Our proprietary database, HOT (HandsOn Technology) will be the only way to recognize hours. |
Other programs such as TeamWorks, Book Clubs and Film Screenings, may count toward volunteer hours. Office volunteers who wish to compete for the impact grant should e-mail beth@hoba.org to request an exception. |
Fundraisers cannot count toward volunteer hours. |
Grants can only be awarded to HOBA partner agencies. |
Staff members including Full-Time, Part-Time, AmeriCorps and Minimum Time AmeriCorps are not eligible for this grant. |

Team with the Most Hours:
- Your team may only consist of 4 - 10 members.
- The maximum is 10 members per team. (Having a maximum of ten will allow teams to participate in many of our programs.)
- Four or more team members must attend a given project in order to make the hours count toward the total number of hours.
- Only team hours count toward this award.
- If one team member volunteers individually (without the rest of the team), his or her hours will be counted toward the “Volunteer with the Most Hours” award. Ensuring appropriate registration for projects will allow other teams to benefit from this award.
- Your team’s participation in Be The Change Day on 9/13 will be counted as double the time.
- Only the team captain can sign up for the project, please keep a record of who your team captain is.
