PREPARE FOOD: Berkeley Food and Housing, Community Meal
The Berkeley Food and Housing project was founded in 1970 and serves to ease and end the crisis of homelessness for men, women, and children in the Berkeley community. With programs ranging from free meal service to permanent supportive housing, BFHP provides a continuum of care to accommodate a broad spectrum of specialized needs.
Each weekday, except Wednesday, BFHP serves a free, nutritious meal to around 100 members of the community who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness. Volunteers will help prepare and serve a meal, as well as assist with clean-up.
