MAKE A FRIEND: Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center

Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center

Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center focuses on the needs of people with low to moderate incomes. BHNC works to preserve and enhance the ethnic, cultural, and economic diversity of Bernal Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. They develop affordable housing throughout San Francisco, and provide linguistically and culturally responsive services to the community’s most vulnerable adults, seniors, and youth. Thier Senior Program focuses on meeting the needs of active seniors by providing fun activities, daily congregate lunches, and linkages to social services.

Volunteers will help serve and prepare lunch at BHNC's sister site in the Excelsior district. Volunteers may also help out with BINGO games, the front desk, and an occassional field trip in San Francisco.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring ingredients for lunch since resources are limited at the senior center. Helpful items include: bread/bagels, cream cheese, fresh fruit, deli meats, and chips/dip.
