ENCOURAGE COURAGE with Special Olympics Floor Hockey - NEW PROJECT!
Floor hockey has been a Special Olympics sport since 1970, but it's relatively new to the athletes in the Bay Area! No experience is necessary to assist with this fun team sport.
Floor Hockey is a fun energetic game modeled after regular hockey but played on a basketball court with broom sticks and a felt ring for the hockey puck.It is fast paced but no one gets hurt.
Special Olympics is a international sports organization for people of all ages and all intellectual disabilities.
Volunteers should wear soft-soled shoes on the gym floor. Ages 16 to adult. Volunteers age 12-15 welcome with supervising parent. Email goodforfamilies@handsonbayarea.org to register your child. (SF: Mission)
