SPECIAL PROJECT! RESTORE HABITAT with South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition!
South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition conducts creek cleanups working to restore our local waterways. This Volunteer effort started on Los Gatos Creek where 68 tons of trash have been removed from this local Creek over the past 19 months! The effort has expanded to the Guadalupe River & soon the Coyote Creek.
We need your help as our local creeks have suffered as local governments have allowed campers & illegal dumping which has reduced our local creeks to some of our Nation's worst as ranked by the EPA. With the support of Citizen's & Corporate groups this situation is being reversed. All the tools and supplies needed will be provided
Volunteer tasks will focus on trash pickup with pickup tools. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 18 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or gaurdian.
Exact site of cleanup will be announced 2 weeks in advance of event but volunteers will be working on one of our local creeks.
