Description:
On Be The Change Day, volunteers will work around the shore of Lake Merritt, the first National Wildlife Refuge in North America. Help with lakeshore cleanup, weeding and cleaning in the garden center and helping around the wildlife refuge center. Keep this important sanctuary for local animals and city-dwellers!
Please wear comfortable clothing in layers, that you don’t mind getting dirty, and closed-toe athletic shoes or hiking/work boots (no open-toe or slip-on shoes).(East Bay: Oakland)

Volunteer Minimum Age: 14
- Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a supervising parent or guardian with an active HOBA account. Email goodforfamilies@hoba.org to register your child.
- Ages 16 to 17 must bring a signed parent/guardian consent form.
