| GO GREEN at the Native Plant Nursery |
Agency: Literacy for Environmental Justice
Description:
Our Be The Change Day team will work side-by-side with budding horticulturalists restoring their community one seed at a time. Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ) works to cultivate the next generation of community leaders in one of the Bay Area's poorest neighborhoods, empowering at-risk youth through environmental education, mentoring programs, civic activism, and good old-fashioned hard work in Bayview's few remaining green spaces.
Please wear comfortable clothing in layers, that you don’t mind getting dirty, and closed-toe athletic shoes or hiking/work boots (no open-toe or slip-on shoes). (SF: Bayview)
