PREPARE & SERVE FOOD: St. Anthony's Dining Room

Project Overview

Service with St. Anthony's is more than volunteerism, it’s an opportunity to connect with the community through shared moments of compassion and understanding. For the last 71 years, the Dining Room has provided thousands of meals every day to those who lack this basic necessity.

Volunteers will be assigned roles in food preparation, packing meals, and serving and bussing tables to ensure St.Anthony Dining Room guests are served with dignity. Please note that volunteers will be serving inside the Dining Room where the vaccination status of guests who are eating may be unknown.

About St. Anthony's Dining Room

The St.Anthony’s Dining Room started in 1950 serving just 400 meals a day and is now serving 1500 meals each day. Their goal is to always treat every guest with dignity and respect. The Dining Room became one of the many programs of St.Anthony that advocate for the community of San Francisco.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

• Volunteers are required to show proof of vaccination and photo ID at their first shift.

• Volunteers must wear comfortable clothing suitable for an active work environment and close-toed shoes.

• Volunteers cannot wear open-toed shoes, shorts, skirts/dresses shorter than ankle-length, leggings, or shirts without sleeves.

• Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time.
