FOOD: Tenderloin Salvation Army Food Pantry

Project Overview

Create change and provide hope throughout the community by helping the Salvation Army cure hunger. Volunteer in support of underserved families and seniors at the Salvation Army Kroc Center's weekly Food Pantry every Friday.

Volunteers will help unload, sort, and package food to be distributed to families.

About the Salvation Army Food Pantry

The Salvation Army addresses food insecurity by providing food to an average of 156,000 guests every single day. In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity, the food pantry and other programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

• Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing (layers are recommended), a mask, and closed-toed shoes are required

• Bilingual volunteers (Either Mandarin or Cantonese / English) are strongly encouraged to register

• Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. If your group is larger than the listed project maximum, please email kim@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up and coordinating with the agency partner for possible accommodation.
