Fresh Approach is a nonprofit organization that aims to create long-term change in local food systems, by connecting California communities with healthy food from California farmers and expanding knowledge about food and nutrition. As part of the industrious EPA community, they seek to foster more communal growing, sharing, and eating of fresh, local produce.

The Collective Roots Gardening Program provides an opportunity for gardening skill-building, resource sharing, and community empowerment at Collective Roots community garden. Through their workshops, volunteer workdays, and community resources, they equip families with the skills and means to grow their own fresh fruits and vegetables.

Help plant, maintain, and harvest their community and educational gardens in East Palo Alto, while learning the basics of organic gardening and enjoying being part of the community.

If you can, bring your favorite healthy dish and enjoy a community dinner under the beautiful oak trees after the project!
