About the Projects

During this event, volunteers will travel to partnering Oakland organizations to support climate action service projects! Project specifics will be determined by the partners but will align with California Climate Action Corps three main focus areas:

  • Urban Greening: potential projects may include invasive species removal, habitat restoration, and planting trees.

  • Organic Waste & Edible Food Recovery: potential projects may include planting/harvesting, weeding, moving/creating compost, and plant care.

  • Wildfire Resiliency: potential projects may include brush thinning or removal and canvassing/education.

We will let you know more about your project closer to the date so you know what to expect and bring to the day! If you have any concerns about the project you are assigned to, please contact Karen Lally at karen@handsonbayarea.org
