HandsOn Bay Area Founders
In 1988, three friends from Stanford had a powerful idea - engage professionals in volunteer service by making it accessible to people with busy lives. With this idea, Community Impact was born. A couple of years later another group of friends created Hands On San Francisco with the same premise. By 2004, each organization was thriving and providing much needed volunteer activation to the Bay Area and they agreed that they could do even more together. The merger created HandsOn Bay Area.
Today, HandsOn Bay Area continues with the goal of making volunteering a valuable response to the needs of the community. We thank our founders for their vision and tenacity and we look forward to many more years of service to the Bay Area.
