HELP OUT: Prisoners Literature Project
The Prisoners Literature Project (PLP) believes that everyone has a right to read. Unfortunatley, many prisoners have very limited access to reading materials. PLP is a non-profit run entirely by volunteers that sends hundreds of free books to people behind bars every week. In 2016 they shipped over 30,000 books directly to prisoners, all free of charge.
Volunteers help read thank-you letters and book requests from prisoners, select good books for them, and pack them up for shipment.
