GARDEN: Alameda Boys & Girls Club
The Alameda Boys and Girls Club's mission is to inspire and eneable all youth, especially those who need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Help spruce up the club's garden and support an organization that invaluably enriches the lives of young people in our community. Italo's Garden is a 1/4 acre, educational edible garden site with 31 raised beds. Volunteers will help with pruning shrubs, weeding, maintaining the bioremediation garden, [weeding around the base of the beds and fences,] picking up trash around the garden, watering the plants, building and turning the compost pile.
On wet or especially chilly mornings, volunteers can still help organize seeds or help seed starting in their greenhouse!
