CIVIC ENGAGEMENT - Give thanks to Black Futures Lab Organizers
Black Futures Lab's "Black to the Ballot" initiative registered, engaged, and activated Black voters through their national voter registration drive and sister organization, Black to the Future Action Fund's Black Agenda 2020. BFL has worked tirelessly in partnership with Black organizers around the country to engage record breaking numbers of underrepresented voters and get them registered to vote. Now that the election season is over, BFL is looking to volunteers and community to honor and share thanks and gratitude for the strategic, passionate and people-powered movement of Black organizers and Black led organizations who were instrumental in increasing engagement among voters of color this year. Volunteers will produce videos of gratitude using the free Cinebody app to thank Black organizers and Black led organizations who ensured people had the information they needed to make their voices heard in the election. Videos will be shared with organizers across the country. Volunteers may be expected to participate in conversation and sharing. An orientation to Black Futures Lab and their work as well as training in how to generate videos will be provided day-of the event led by HandsOn Bay Area.
