PREPARE FOOD: Tri-City Volunteers
Tri-City Volunteers aims to eliminate hunger and promote financial self-sufficiency in Alameda County by distributing food and providing services that address the social causes of hunger, such as volunteer opportunities and job training.
The TCV Food Bank is the heart and soul of their operations. The organization uses its strong ties with local farmers and small businesses to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and distribute it to families in need. Volunteers help pack food baskets, sort canned food items, and bag produce to assist almost 6,000 families every month.
