GARDEN: Ecocenter at Heron's Head Park

Come explore - and restore - one of San Francisco's few wetland habitats! Where the fresh waters of Islais Creek mix with the bay, a tidal wetland is growing, home to over 100 species of birds. Join us here in Heron's Head Park to help this vibrant ecosystem thrive! Work alongside staff from the EcoCenter and San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department in our joint stewardship of the Park.

Some of our volunteer tasks include:
- invasive species removal
- mulch application
- watering and planting

Please come prepared with:
- sturdy closed toed shoes
- sunscreen
- a light snack
- clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty!

Afterwards, the EcoCenter and Heron's Head Park abound with plenty of recreational opportunities: anglers can go fishing, history buffs can visit the EcoCenter to learn about the historic Hunter's Point neighborhood, photographers can have a field day with vantages of land meeting water. We hope to see you here!
