SPRUCE UP Oakland School Gardens
Come get your hands dirty with a work day at OBUGS' schoolyard gardens (Oakland Based Urban Gardens) in West Oakland. Volunteers will assist with the weeding, planting, light construction and garden work the little ones aren't quite ready for. Come and learn a new skill, discover a green thumb, and take home a seedling or something edible from the garden.
It's not uncommon for volunteers to come home with something to replant or to eat!
It is OBUGS' mission to strengthen families through educational programs in neighborhood gardens, green spaces and farmers markets. (West Oakland)
