CLIMATE ACTION: Nursery Workday with Our City Forest
California Climate Action Corps - Community Climate Action Day, a climate volunteer event and celebration hosted in collaboration with California Volunteers, HandsOn Bay Area, the City of San Jose, Veggielution, and other San Jose community organizations! As part of California Climate Action Week, hundreds of volunteers will support projects throughout the city focused on urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, and wildfire resiliency.
Join Our City Forest Community Nursery and learn about native plants and stewardship of native, drought-tolerant plants. Volunteers will be transplanting trees & shrubs, cultivating seedlings, building soil, watering, removing invasive species, pruning, moving and staking trees, labeling plants, filling mulch buckets, and propagating plants in the greenhouse..

About California Climate Action Corps
In California, climate change is a threat to systems and people across the state. The impacts to our environment and health are worsening as we experience longer and more frequent droughts, devastating wildfires, and more. Each of us has a role to play. You can take meaningful action today to help communities across our state..
In 2020, as a part of California’s comprehensive strategy to address the climate crisis, California Volunteers, Office of the Governor, created the country’s first state-level climate service corps. The service corps was established to empower all Californians to take meaningful action to safeguard the climate.
