HELP OUT: Saint Vincent de Paul's Community Centers
Project Overview
Saint Vincent de Paul's Community, Women's & Children's, and Men's centers provide a safe, warm place where our guests can relax, read, play games, do work, meet other people and access many of St. Vincent de Paul's supplementary programs. Services are offered any day(s) Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm. Volunteers will be helping to check in our guests, schedule services, sort and distribute clothing and provide other items as needed (e.g. diapers).
About St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda
In Alameda County, 325,000 people face hunger or live in poverty. Through our programs, volunteers and community partners provide direct services to those in need. Whether it's spending time in our Community Center, staying warm and safe in our shelter, or eating a hot meal in our Dining Room, people are able to meet their most basic needs five days a week at St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County.

If you are driving, we have a secure parking lot, strictly for volunteers/staff, at 675 23rd Street between San Pablo Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Pull up to the gate closest to San Pablo and honk. Someone inside will open the gate. If you are walking or being dropped off, we have a door at the 23rd Street address. Ring the bell and a staff member will let you in. When you are getting picked up, please have your parent/guardian pick you up inside (they can pull up to the gate and honk and we’ll let them in). Never wait outside. When you arrive, you will need to sign in on the computer using the following number: your phone number without the area code. (please be sure to log out at the end of the day as well).
If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up. Please note we are unable to customize our commUNITY calendar projects and are unable to increase the number of spots that are available. For groups wanting a custom project, please refer to our corporate volunteering program.
