HELP OUT: Monthly Book Sale at FOPAL

Project Overview

The Friends of the Palo Alto Library's/FOPAL book sales are one of the largest of its kind in the country! The money generated from the sale is donated to public libraries. To date, FOPAL has donated over 3 million dollars! About a quarter-million books, a year, find new readers instead of going into landfill. Volunteers are needed as cashiers, floor supervisors, and donation monitors (meet hundreds of fellow book-a-holics and experience the thrill of the Marketplace!)

About Friends of the Palo Alto Library

Friends of the Palo Alto Library (FOPAL) is a member-supported non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Palo Alto Public Library and its users through volunteerism, book sales, and advocacy. Our volunteers conduct monthly and online sales of books and other media donated by the community. Net proceeds from our sales are used for the purchase of books, media, online resources, equipment, and special programs for Palo Alto’s five public libraries.
