San Francisco Unified School District - James Denman Middle School

At James Denman Middle School, the goal is for all students to achieve academic, social, and personal growth, to experience success and fulfillment in their academic endeavors, and to be prepared for the challenge of high school. The school provides all students with a core curriculum that includes language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, and physical education. All students have opportunities to explore new knowledge, skills, and experiences through the extensive electives: art, orchestra, band, woodshop, journalism/yearbook, drama, computer studies, leadership, and media literacy/ video production. Learning activities include essays, reading responses, reports, projects, journal-writing, oral presentations, discussions, investigations, and experiments. Technology is featured in all of the programs and is evident through the schools two computer labs. The students wear uniforms.
